Metro 2033 Redux is a remastered version of the 2010 survival horror game Metro 2033, developed by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver. Released in 2014, the Redux version features improved graphics, improved gameplay mechanics, and a more polished overall experience. The game is based on the 2005 novel Metro 2033 by Dmitri Glukhovsky and is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the remnants of humanity have been forced to live in the metro tunnels beneath Moscow after a devastating nuclear war.

Metro 2033 Redux is set in a bleak, dystopian future. Moscow, once a thriving metropolis, is now a radioactive wasteland, and the surviving human population has retreated underground to the city's vast metro system. The game follows Artyom, a young man living in the VDNH station, one of several metro stations that serve as isolated centers for survivors. The story begins with Artyom receiving a mysterious mission to travel to the Polis Station and warn humanity of a terrifying new threat, the Dark Ones, a race of intelligent aliens who may hold the key to the survival of the human race.

Metro 2033 Redux offers a blend of survival horror, first-person shooter mechanics, and stealth elements, all within a story-driven experience. Players take control of Artyom, as he navigates underground tunnels, hostile surface areas, and the remains of the old world. The gameplay is intense and challenging, with an emphasis on resource management and tactical combat.

Metro 2033 Redux features improved graphics over the original, with higher quality textures, better lighting, and more realistic character models. The game uses advanced lighting techniques, such as physically based rendering and global illumination, which dramatically improve the visual fidelity of the underground tunnels and the toxic wasteland above.
